One of a trio of bottlings originally released for the Travel Retail market by Bowmore in 2017. This is a litre bottle of the 15 Year Old expression, matured in first-fill bourbon casks, resulting in generous bundles of vanilla goodness alongside familiar peaty notes.
Fresh vanilla pods and salted caramel. Hints of lemon and orange peel.
A touch of smoked kipper as it opens, leading to seaside fudge and honey'd barley.
Peat smoke, another burst of citrus.

I bought this one on a cruise visiting Heligowland a German island, having been a great fan of all Islay whiskys this is with out doubt one of the very best ,it is just fabulous not anything i could possibly fault about it .Very well done Bowmore.
I've really let this bottle breathe for a while now, and comparing it against other whiskeys. It has a bit of everything, from honey to smoke and citrus, woody tastes and goes well with a dash of herbal bitters/dribble of water. Not the most stunning of Islay whiskeys, nor is it average - in this volume as well you get different variations of character as you polish it off. Great to share amongst friends for an occaision i would think. Cheers
On of the least attractive Bowmores I have ever tasted. The 15YO Darkest was excellent as was the 15YO Mariner. This is not up to their standard
Nice balance of smoke and tropical fruits, good value for the money (note that it's 1L). The 18yo travel retail is even better, but this is also solid.
