Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey from Buffalo Trace distillery, Blanton's Original Single Barrel showcases the characteristic bourbon profile you know and love – think warm spices, fresh baked cookies, and well integrated oak. Each batch is drawn from a single barrel and bottled at 46.5% ABV.
I’ve been curious about Blantons for a while now given all of the hype around it. I can honestly say I was not disappointed in the slightest, very smooth
Had this back in 2010 when it was $40ish for a 750. It was a favorite but bookers still had it as my top favorite. Then I started seeing it on Justified and other shows to promote it. Ok fine, get your name out there. Now I see it on every show and movie and the price has skyrocketed beyond reason. For goodness sake stop the madness and create a brand that people can enjoy for its own sake not because it’s on your favorite show or the collection of stoppers. Gimmicky beyond belief.
I bought a bottle of blantons last year after seeing it in a john wick movie. Paid 130 quid for it so don't dare open it haha. Glad I bought a sample cos tbh a dunno what all fuss is about. It's an orite Bourbon dont get me wrong but doesn't justify the price. I sampled a 35 quid bottle of Glasgow 1770 before trying this blanton and the 1770 was 5 times better quality. I'll just keep my 70cl bottle left as an unopened ornament. A lot will disagree but I found this very average
A really good bourbon. Sweet, floral notes and a peppery spicy finish. The only thing stopping me giving it a 5* would be the price point. In my opinion Four Roses single barrel would be a more affordable alternative with a similar taste. Overall I would recommend treating yourself to a bottle, not just a great looking bottle and stopper, a very solid bourbon.
By far one of the best bourbons made. Sweet, smooth, brilliant. Shame quite so rare these days, so if you see one, grab one.
