Douglas Laing picked out a splendid single cask from Blair Athol here, bottling it up for its Clan Denny Chronicles series. Matured in a hogshead cask for a decade, before a total of 229 bottles were released at a cask strength of 53.8%. The Water Horse is a mythical creature that features in Celtic folklore, lurking in lakes and lochs, and is also often referred to as the kelpie.
A good dose of sherried fruits, nutty malt, and spiced, rich oak.
Dark, dried fruits, dates, and raisins, with baking spice, a touch of sweet earthy coffee, and bitter chocolate.
The spiced fruits continue with fruit cake, a hint of juicy zest and toasted nuts.
