Blair Athol 13 Year Old 2011 (cask 19503) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

This single malt from Blair Athol is brought to us by Douglas Laing as part of the Old Particular Red Wine Cask Collection. Distilled in 2011, the whisky matured for a total of 13 years, including a generous finish in a single Sangiovese red wine cask from Italy, bringing sweet notes of cherries and berries alongside layers of biscuity malt and honey.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Layers of dried fruits, rich oak, and woody spice, with dark cherries and cacao in tow.

Palate

Runny honey, stewed fruit, and sweet, biscuity malt, supported by soft spices and vanilla fudge.

Finish

Red fruit sweetness lingers for the finish, with vanilla cream, cakey spice, silky caramel.
