“I have loved all of the expressions of Big Peat and this is another winner,beneath the oily surface,which I love is banana, pineapple,marshmallow,it's just the contrasts,it all works.I think the Xmas 22 edition had similar flavors but the rum casks just add another level.Downside,slightly overpriced.”

In celebration of Fèis Ìle 2024, we have a limited-edition Big Peat! This year, the Islay was finished in rum casks. There's just 5,688 bottles, filled at 48% ABV with no colouring and no chill-filtration.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Peated barley and smoke give way to a warming, spicy style plus toasted marshmallows.

Palate

Oily and thick with a distinctly Islay character alongside flambéed banana, barbecued meat and honeyed malt.

Finish

Coal dust lingers with a charred pineapple and allspice sweetness.
