Big Peat The Smokehouse Edition Fèis ìle 2023

Douglas Laing's 2023 Fèis ìle release of its Big Peat expression aims to pair perfectly with steak. If you're thinking 'I'm more of a red wine with steak person' well hang on a sec, because The Smokehouse Edition is a blend of cracking Islay single malts, most of which have been finished in full-bodied red wine casks. The best of both worlds, and a great whisky for all food that's good and grilled.

Rich, fullsome and lots of depth

Perfect- exactly what I look for in a sweet peat style of malt. Really well done Big Peat. You do not disappoint

Master of Malt Customer Jun 20, 2023

    Excellent

Worthy of the online hype currently about this bottling from Douglas Laing. Really, really worthy of the hype!

Master of Malt Customer Jun 10, 2023

    Impressed for sure

This is indeed as the earlier reviewer said excellent and so well balanced - the peat smoke and red wine work remarkably well

Master of Malt Customer May 22, 2023

    Bravo ?

Just taken delivery of this one and it’s spectacular. Well done big peat - a perfect balance of sweet peat and red wine cask influence
