Bottled for The Classic Range by legendary wine and spirit merchants Berry Bros. & Rudd, this 12-year-old single malt from Speyside was selected for its cereal and fruity style, which was thought to be the perfect match for long maturation in oloroso sherry butts.
Christmas cake, orange peel, dark chocolate, and cinnamon.
Sultanas, oily walnuts, marmalade, Madeira cake, toffee, and nutmeg.
Spicy and sweet.
Now this sits in my glass with a golden amber glow, then when I put it to my nose I get strong Christmas Cake, Orange Peel and Dark Chocolate. Then over the palate I get Hot Chestnuts, Mice Pies and Toffee. The weaker part of this fine Whisky is the finish, it finishes quite quickly with Nutmeg and mild Christmas Spices. All in all though, it's in my top five for that fine nose.
