Independently bottled Benrinnes single malt, distilled in 1997 and matured for a quarter of a century in a single refill hogshead. That cask yielded a total of 164 bottles when it was opened in 2022, joining the Old Malt Cask collection from Hunter Laing.
Almond butter, burnt biscuits, caramelised pineapple, and sherried dried fruits.
Still nutty with notes of praline and oily barley, honeyed flapjack, and vanilla pastries. Fresh apple joins, with a hint of herbacous oak.
Toasted marzipan, sultanas, and more buttery pastry. Soft butterscotch tames a sprinkling of nutmeg and green peppercorn.
