Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 2012
Sherry

A sherried bruiser from Benrinnes, this 13-year-old single malt was matured in first-fill and refill oloroso butts and bottled at the classic 100 Proof (57.1% ABV) with no chill-filtration or added colour. Hefty, meaty spirit meets rich, dark cask in proper winter dram fashion.
Deep aromas of fig, Medjool dates, cocoa powder, cinnamon, and clove. Underneath lies dark chocolate ganache and just a hint of leather.
Date syrup, cherry jam, espresso beans, cracked black pepper, and gingerbread. Layers of nutmeg and burnt sugar emerge with time.
Long, spicy, and indulgently dark, with tannic grip, dark cocoa, and a whisper of black tea and smoke.
