Benriach are well-known for releasing some very interesting expressions utilising different production techniques - and this most certainly fits that bill! It's a triple distilled single malt (not very common at all in Scotland), which was matured in a Pedro Ximénez Sherry Puncheon from May 1998 to September 2015. The 17 year old whisky was then specially selected and bottled for La Maison du Whisky with an outturn of 667 bottles.
Savoury (and subtly earthy) herbs temper intense red fruit sweetness.
Waxy orange peel drenched in Sherry, thyme, menthol and dark chocolate.
Basil, blackberry and some sea salt.
