Benriach 16 Year Old 1999 (casks 95191 & 95192) - Chieftain's (Ian Macleod)

This 16 year old single malt was distilled at Benriach in May 1999, finished in Aloxe-Corton wine casks (Aloxe-Corton is a type of wine produced in Côte de Beaune, Burgundy) and bottled by Ian Macleod at 46% ABV in July 2015. Only 628 bottles were released.

Nose

Summer berries, dark chocolate and oak warmth.

Palate

A conforting palate of roasted nuts, plum jam and dark morello cherries. Wine-like richness covers it all.

Finish

Nuts and dark fruits.
