Curiositas is a 10 year old, peated release from the BenRiach distillery in what they call the 'classic Speyside style'. A distinct malt with great depth and a bittersweet balance.

Sweet grassy malt, succulent fudge and hints of smoke and heather lead. There's a touch of malmsey underneath with fragrant honey and mellow oak.
Caramelised sugar and strong cereal flavours form the core. Marshmallows, ripe stone fruit and a warm nuttiness develop while peppery spice tingles in the backdrop with green wood smoke.
Bittersweet with slight suggestions of dry oak, beeswax and fennel.
You know what they say. This packaging is pretty tired. Needs a refresh like my grandma's kitchen... but no one can cook like her... no one. For the price, this is a damn good dram. It's a Speyside by nature, but I swear I taste some lowland grass along side it's obvious Islay peat. Not sure this one 'belongs' to any Scottish region. Maybe it's just "Scottish" That'll do pig.
I first tried Curiositas when it was first released as a 46% non-chill-filtered whisky, and I must say it was delightfully peaty and robust. I therefore cannot understand why the distillery decided to release this shadow of that once-great whisky. Compared to the original this version is very thin and unassertive and, to my mind, greatly disappointing. Bring back the original.
If you're a fan of highland park, or the dalwhinnie, and are looking for something with more smoke, this is the dram for you, truly wonderful.
Agree with previous reviewer that this a great whisky for the price. The nose reminds me of the classic Lagavulin 16, and the palette doesn't dissapoint with a lingering finish
This is a great dram, with an amazing smoke in the nose as well as in the palate. Finish is absolutely incredibile with chewy smoke leaving on a tongue an impression of white chocolate. Buy it at once!!!
