When the Saints go marchin' in

This will be what I'd offer'em. The only crappy thing 'bout this juice be that ev'ry time I enjoy a treat, bottle goes towards empty. Bugger. Sweet fruits in my nose, primarily melons and honey (I know - honey's not fruit). Gentle spirit in the nose. It's seductive and inviting. On the palate I get syrup and a slight hint of cinnamon'ish. A slight BenRiachis burn quickly fade and reveals more sweetness and fudge in the finish. Did I say finish ? It's like it won't finish. It won't let You go. This one will leave You with delicious mouthwatering sweetness long after the last sip. This one takes a whiff of Water very well. Interesting, floral stuff happens in the nose when watered a bit down, but do not overdo it. The Price You pay for "interesting" is a much shorter finish, and by G. I love that finish. Half star dropped of for not being cask strength.

    Gone!

well, they ashamedly cut this line of 1650 bottles and the new line of sauterne finish is 15 years at 20% higher price!! However, if you consider the recent glenmorangie nectar d'or price increase, this is a great alternative, get yours before they flood the world with the cheaper 15 year old alternatives!

    Well Balanced

BenRiach have produced a well balanced whisky with strong Vanilla and hazelnut tastes. A surprising long finish and very good value at this price.

    A very good example

Ben Riach are getting themselves a reputation for knocking out some very good cask finishes. Some work better than others and this Sauternes release is one of those. Sweet, delicate nose but carrying through a rich warming flavour. Great for the price - tasted at the Manchester Whisky Club
