Just 1,650 bottles were produced of this Benriach 16 year old, finished in First Growth Bordeaux previously used to mature Sauternes from Chateau D'Yquem
Nutty, gristy notes; almonds, hazelnuts and hints of cereal and flour. Sherried.
Thick and chewy, with a supple depth. Refined sweetness, intense vanilla and oaky spices.
Oaked spices, peppery smoke.

This is a wonderful malt, honey honey smooth and we'll balanced. Can't beat it for the money, shame they only made 1600 or so bottles, I have purchased a few as it will all go!
16 year old Benriach finished in Sauternes casks should tell you this will be a bottle to savor. Similar in profile to Glenmorangie's Nectar D'or, but with a slightly broader, brisker taste, plenty of complexity and a long rewarding finish. Limited number of bottles produced so worth seeking out a couple at the earliest opportunity. Non chill filtered and no added coloring, just gorgeous stuff.
