Benchmark by name, benchmark by nature. This really is one for the more well Bourbon producers to beat, and despite its status as an outsider, really warrants some attention - especially if cocktails are on the menu.
Aromatic and quite sweet. Soft toasty spices, salted caramel and vanilla pod earthiness.
A creamy spirit carrying custard, toffee apple and biscuity notes.
Cinnamon, chocolate digestives and tangerine.
It's great but hard to find in rural western Oregon
Funny one this, thought I'd give it a shot as I'd heard it was a bit of a lottery. People saying it's what doesn't quite make the mark for standard buffalo trace? Not sure about that tbh. It's not bad. It's no frills bourbon. There's some interesting notes in there but it's so young and thin. It's better than beam white. From what they pay in the states for it £20 is a bit steep. Fork out another fiver and you can get an ezra brooks or Evan Williams or a standard heaven Hill. M. Horrell
Delicious bourbon straight up on ice.
smells of light cherry and wood. taste is thin and light, the taste doesn't have as much cherry but is wood bitter
Cost $31 canadian that's with a $3 discount. Wtf? First time I've tried it here. Better than JB.
