
The folks over at Ben Èideann have taken their kosher single malt and matured it in American oak bourbon casks before finishing the Highlander in Cabernet Sauvignon red wine casks, sourced from vineyards in the Jerusalem mountains. The finish imparts some wonderful tannic, juicy red fruit notes to the whisky, making it a rather lovely evening sipper.
Blackberry jam and toasted oak, with notes of red grape skin and festive spices.
Vanilla custard and berry crumble, with barley sugar and spicy oak.
Cooked cherry and melted dark chocolate, with fragrant tobacco lingering.
