    1792 Small Batch

All the way back in 1792, Kentucky officially became a state. Many moons later, 1792 Small Batch bourbon was named after that very same year. As it happens, it's a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. Coincidence? We think not. This expression features mashbill with a generous helping of rye, resulting in a flavour profile packed with herbal spice alongside the classic caramelised sugar, buttered corn and toasted oak notes you find in top-notch bourbons. Great for sipping over a couple ice cubes on a sunny evening.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Buttery warmth up front, followed by black pepper and Sesame Snaps. Soft smoky hints of charred oak and cinnamon.

    Palate

Runny caramel, clove, cardamom, corn grilled on a BBQ, peanut brittle and spicy rye.

    Finish

A little hint of cinnamon and citrus on the finish.

    Let Oxygen Get To It

I was disappointed with this when I first opened the bottle. It tasted "off" and it had the thinnest mouth-feel of any bourbon I have ever tried. But oxygen helped this whiskey immensely. In just a couple of days after bottle-opening the bourbon was completely transformed. I highly recommend it, and counsel just a bit of patience.

    Yes please

Very well made and wonderful finish. I paid $25 in Texas. :)

    Pour me another.

Sucks for the guy in New York. This was a real gem for $30 in Florida! Smooth and delicious.

Master of Malt Customer Sep 20, 2015

What kind of price is that?!?

It's a delicious bourbon, but I'm from one of the more expensive states (New York) and it's regularly under $30. It's a great value here, butterscotch, praline; sweet and smooth vs some of the more rough and tumbles. Refined. But $80 is absurd. And to give you an idea of NY pricing, eagle rare 10yr is $10 more a bottle than across the state line to Connecticut. That's more than a 25% increase in bordering states. So I'm in an expensive area and you're charging triple my local price. Staggering. It's reasonable up to $35 if it's that rare in your community, otherwise walk away.
