From Bartels Whisky's The Big B range comes a 13 year old bourbon produced at an undisclosed Tennessee distillery, drawn from a single cask. American whiskey enthusiasts ought to be able to have a good guess at who was responsible for this one...
Brown bread with salted butter and chocolate spread, molasses and a touch of tobacco leaf.
Rich and oily, with Christmas-y spices taking shape at the core.
Still chocolatey. Hints of fresh apricot and pear flourish right on the end.
Big bourbon. My online research points towards Dickel who had 2003 distilate bottled in 2017 by various indie bottlers around same time. But I don't really know so feel free to correct me. Sweet, heavy nose, lots of chocolate and sweet cherries, tobacco and mixed spices. I'll do you a favour and leave the bottle for you to buy, tho I should probably snatch it. For this price, absolute steal for a perfectly aged bourbon.
