Balmenach 26 Year Old 1988 (cask 3239) - Cask Strength Collection (Signatory)

26 year old single malt Scotch whisky from Balmenach, a distillery that was founded in 1824 but is probably better known for Caorunn gin (only produced since 2009) than whisky as it's all too rarely released as single malt. Distilled in November 1988 and bottled in January 2015, after more than 26 years in a single hogshead, just 214 bottles were produced.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Caramelised, honeyed pears, a little malt and crushed nuts.

Juicy barley and oak, a touch of sultana and white chocolate.

    Finish

    Sweet vanilla and wood spice.

    Overall

Well matured with cereal and subtle mixed spice character.
