12 year old single cask single malt from the Aultmore Distillery, independently bottled up by Signatory. This expression was distilled in 2009 and filled into a first-fill bourbon barrel, where it slumbered for a dozen years, before eventually being bottled up at 43% ABV.
Nutty brown bread, marmalade, Nice biscuits.
Cinnamon sticks, a little earthy barley, vanilla custard.
Nutty once again with almond and pecan.
A very pleasant dram: nutty, spicy and vanilla. Went down a treat - rather too easily, in fact. Probably got a bit more body than the distillery 12 but not as much citrus.
