A 17 year old single malt from the wonderful Auchroisk Distillery, independently bottled by House of Macduff. This one began life back in 1997, and was allowed to mature until 2014. It was bottled up at cask strength for the Golden Cask series, with 280 bottles produced.
Allspice, lemon peel and sponge cake.
Subtly oily barley notes arrive first, with black pepper and caraway mixed in there too. Vanilla builds later on.
Grassy malt and flaky pastry.
