We all remember what we were doing when the new Millennium rolled around. Whether we were watching fireworks or dressed as Darth Maul in the middle of Somerset, it was a huge moment for everyone.
In memory of that occasion, the distillers at Arran spent December 31st 1999 and January 1st 2000 putting whisky into 35 bourbon barrels and 10 sherry casks which were put aside for their Millennium Casks bottling. A limited release of 7,800 bottles, decorated with the Roman God, Janus, God of beginnings and endings.
Nose: Big notes of fresh grain and a pinch of spice.
Palate: Zesty orange, baked apples and a sparkling sprinkle of cinnamon.
Finish: A fresh, bright finish which grows slightly woody near the end.
Overall: Let's hope we don't have to wait until the next Millennium to get another dram like this.

If u cant get a hold of any of the sherry cask finishes from Arran, this would be the next best thing. Worth a try...may even buy one more for later.
