Arran
Scotland
Single Malt
Officially launched in 2006, this 10 year old lies at the heart of the Isle of Arran range and exudes all the honeyed richness we have come to associate with the island distillery.
Herbal, biscuity, hedgerow greenness and dried grass, like a long English summer's afternoon.
Sweet. Quite malty, digestive biscuits, followed by green fruits and Cox's apple peel.
Slightly bitter, maltiness.

I bought two whiskey's in the same price range, just to compare and contrast. The other one being rather commercially hyped. And guess what, you could tell the difference just by the smell and colour! I am no connoisseur when it comes to whisky but very meticulous about why and what I buy. This one instantly reminded me bit of Craigellachie 13 Years which I enjoyed thoroughly! But guess about, it costs less and deliver almost the same or even more. So, if you are someone like me, not exactly a whiskey connoisseur, but hates commercial non-age statement, commercially poor whisky, then do not even think just have a taste of this beautiful scotch whisky. So easy to drink and indulge into many flavours of cereally notes, exotic fruits.
For the money, it does not get much better than this! Great combination of citrus and malty notes. Sublime combination of sweet and sour. Creamy apricots, zesty lemon oil and honey biscuits.
I've been drinking whisky for a while and I had never picked up any arran expression, last week I had a glass of the 18 at a friend's house and absolute loved it. Next day I picked up a 10, 18 and a quarter cask. I really like the character of this distillery.
Gets better the more you drink it after you get passed the heavy malty notes
In my top 2 whiskies, what incredible flavours involved, normally a Peaty lover but this will turn any whisky drinker. Go to Arran try their full range, great island and Whisky.
