The 2018 Ardbeg Day release was Ardbeg Grooves, and as ever, the Islay-based distillers also created something a little special as an Ardbeg Committee Release to go with it. A portion of the whisky that makes up Grooves was aged in red wine casks that were heavily re-charred, resulting in deep grooves in the wood (hence the name). The Committee Release has been bottled at 51.6% ABV.

Honey-glazed ham, matcha tea, walnut, a hint of sea breeze and burnt wood.
Chocolatey at first, before notes of white grape and clementine appear. Maintains a maritime character. Burnt ends give it more meaty elements.
Red berry sweetness, vanilla pod, ash and salted caramel.
