A single cask, independent bottling of Ardbeg, likely to sell out before I finish typing this sentence! It was distilled in 1993 and aged for 18 years in a bourbon cask before bottling at the Bruichladdich distillery in 2011. A release of 245 bottles from Murray McDavid.
Nose: Vanilla, Nutella and oily phenols. A little tar, porridge oats, hay and boiled sweets.
Palate: Lime juice, butterscotch, candy floss, peat smoke, lapsang souchong and mezcal.
Finish: Peppery and bittersweet with sweet oak and coffee beans.
