Angel's Envy is a rather splendid bourbon that has interestingly been finished in Port casks! The combination of the vanilla-y richness with the sweet, sticky Port notes (which really come to the fore of the delightful finish) is a match made in Heaven - an apt saying, considering the name.
Orange segments, flaky pastry and cinnamon sticks.
Creamy vanilla, cedar spice and the start of the red berry sweetness.
A big ol' helping of dark chocolate, red grape and a light waft of aromatic herbs.
£4.39 - £37.75
Was reccomended this by a friend and it does not dissapoint. The more you drink of it the better it gets. Seems a little flat at first. Like an underaged Makers 56. Big bourbon nose, high and sweet likethe Woondford's Reserve. Sweetness and plummy stone fruits on the mouth. Easy drinking, way too easy drinking. Waaaay too easy drinking. Best served neat and warm, pair it with a cohiba and you've got a better after dinner than an old fashioned.
Feels very anemic and not at all like a true Bourban.
By far the best bourbon I have bought so far. It has a kick, it has fruit notes, its awesome. Will buy again in the future.
After looking at the reviews I was expecting more from this, sadly I’m disappointed. It doesn’t have the deep caramel undertones I’ve come to expect (and love) from bourbon and has a bitter aftertaste. I’d choose another bottle of Larceny or Smooth Ambler Scout over this any day.
One of my favourites .I bought 6 bottles the Rye is very good but if you can get hold of the barrel proof your in for a treat
