The fantastic and always popular Aberlour 12 Year Old, matured in both traditional oak and sherry casks. This double cask maturation brings rich depth and balance to the crisp, citrus character at its core, with layers of honeyed fruit and sweet spice.
Soft and rounded with fruity notes of red apple.
A fine sherried character, fruity aromas balanced with rich chocolate.
Warm and lingering. Sweet and spicy.

Superbly smooth. Extremely moreish ! A whisky which encourages you to be aware that this is a concoction which is to be quietly enjoyed and appreciated. It does not treat your tonsils as a punch bag on the way down and gently suggests you "have another wee drop"
Delicious and smooth
Considering this can be picked up for south of £30 its a superb drop. Wonderfully smooth and fruity, sherry notes very prominent
For me, it is a bit simple. To ordinary. Should have been at 50%, I would love it at CS as ABI is. I can already picture it, while I have experimented with delutations of Abi, which I now drink as it is presented. Anyways....Good, solid, down to death entry single malt, bottled at 40% for novices...why 5/5 then? Meh, for the price, it is a steal. And good when you want to clear your palate a bit, or swing it a bit longer on your tongue. If you like a little bit more aroma, I would pick up JWSB at 45%, FRSB at 50%, woodford at 43,2% or even cognac martell vsop, on the other hand, I do see it way better than JWB12, chivas 12, Glenlivet 12 (the new blue bottle).
The bottle and the colour of this whisky is so sweet but I could not find what I expected so far. I can not taste any distinctive flavours out of this whisky which is disappointing for me.
