The fantastic and always popular Aberlour 12 Year Old, matured in both traditional oak and sherry casks. This double cask maturation brings rich depth and balance to the crisp, citrus character at its core, with layers of honeyed fruit and sweet spice.
Soft and rounded with fruity notes of red apple.
A fine sherried character, fruity aromas balanced with rich chocolate.
Warm and lingering. Sweet and spicy.

So far it's the nicest whiskey I have tried. I have consumed several bottles.
This whisky is nice for the price i paid (£28). It tastes almost like bourbon, sherry influence is strong and there is some nice spice to to it as well as the sherry sweetness. I would give it four stars but the mouth feel is quite thin and the finish is short, if it was a higher ABV I think it would be significantly better. Ive tried this side by side with the RedBreast Lustau and the Lustau beats it hand down in all areas and I only paid £7 more for it. Overall good not great
Just had a bottle bought for my 80th birthday hard to believe the taste. Goes down a treat no sharp bite, smells so different from the normal run of the mill whisky. Top of the class. A bit more expensive but well worth it. Bottoms up, cheers.
Easy to drink and tastes ok but nothing special. Prefer the Balvenie double wood for similar price. You may disagree but that's part of the lure of whisky, something out there for everyones taste.
Smooth with slight smoke. Easy drinking
