The fantastic and always popular Aberlour 12 Year Old, matured in both traditional oak and sherry casks. This double cask maturation brings rich depth and balance to the crisp, citrus character at its core, with layers of honeyed fruit and sweet spice.
Soft and rounded with fruity notes of red apple.
A fine sherried character, fruity aromas balanced with rich chocolate.
Warm and lingering. Sweet and spicy.

Hey I got this at £28 also not £35. I am always wary of Double Cask finishes as I often fear that they are trying to correct something like a bad cask in there somewhere more so with Triple Cask finishes. I have read a few comments below and I'm with the folks that said Good v BV12yo D Wood as it is becoming very inconsistent. However on a good day for both I wouldn't mind either. There is a bit of the apple and raisin in there yes Oak yes butter yes. - Im with lacks good finish but its ok. In a big way Im with the nothing special at first and I estimate this will get a lot better when more air gets into the bottle so Im decanting half into an old washed to BV and going to leave out for a week or so. Initially I thought I was picking up something bad like sulphur but the empty glass 6 and 12 o Clock trick yielded nothing negative. have been a big fan of Aberlour esp the A'bunadh small batches and they are well and truly much better as are a good few distilleries these days than that fallen temple just up the hill. BTW avoid AA batch 62 Something seriously wrong there. 63 much better. I'm also with a few of the kneejerk negatives I see but if I may suggest that few drops of water and leaving it to breath for say 30 mins - I think you will get a better result. All in all I would say this is a good buy and well worth a go esp at £28 - I have had a lot worse for a lot more cash. My Score if I had to as I really hate scores as they can be so pre- influencing - is between 85 - 89/100
Fruit and spice and all things nice! Reminds me of Christmas cake. A very enjoyable winter dram! May be a new favourite actually.
Not quite as good as the 43% expression from a few years ago, but still a nice balance of flavours.
Taste quite bland. I can't quite understand what's going on. After several tests I realize that he promises more than he gives. Rich, very nice. But it lacks character and robustness.
Full flavor with clear taste of chocolate and cinnamon. Feels significantly sharper than its 40%. Makes a mild aftertaste.
