The fantastic and always popular Aberlour 12 Year Old, matured in both traditional oak and sherry casks. This double cask maturation brings rich depth and balance to the crisp, citrus character at its core, with layers of honeyed fruit and sweet spice.
Soft and rounded with fruity notes of red apple.
A fine sherried character, fruity aromas balanced with rich chocolate.
Warm and lingering. Sweet and spicy.

This is a very mild, very medium, drinkable Scotch. Nose: caramel; toasty; fruity Taste: malty; nutty; medium texture
I bought some of this recently as it was on offer. It's very tasty, easy to drink and great value. I tried it alongside the Glenfiddich 15 Old Solero as I felt they were rather similar. And indeed they are! Incredibly similar to my uneducated palate, it's just that the Aberlour didn't quite live up to the 15, and considering the Glenfiddich is often cheaper, that one will still win as my 'everyday tipple'. This one's still bloody good though and the bottle is nice too!!
Honey, vanilla, sweet blossom, sherry .. hints of citrus en chocolate after taste. Truly magnificent single malt.
On the nose vanilla notes are dominant with distinct sherry notes. Faint cinnamon, fruity and oaky nuances are also present. Soft and smooth, typical Speyside malt. Amazingly sweet and beautiful. Some faint citrusy nuances can be noted as well. On the palate it is very balanced and rich, some dried fruit and complex aromas are present. Wonderful example of a whisky mastership. A bit expensive as it may be it is worth it as quality shows so well.
Very easy to drink.. would recommend to anyone that is starting out drinking single malt whisky
