    Single Malt

    Aberlour 10 Year Old - Pre 2021

Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, this is an older bottling of 10-year-old single malt from Aberlour. A perennial favourite, typical of the modern Speyside style and thoroughly approachable. Such is its popularity that this bottling has been exported to over fifty countries.

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Sweet and full. Sherried raisins, hints of toffee and a pleasant nuttiness.

    Palate

Quite full-bodied, spicy rich fruitcake, toffee notes and a creamy malty-feel and the vaguest whisper of something akin to synthetic banana.

    Finish

Caramel and honey, the malt still evident and the sweet spices still linger.

    Overall

    Lovely and rich.

    Value for money

This is one great whisky. In my opinion it is even value for money. It is quite complex comparing with other malt whiskies of the same age or even older (in some cases). Sweet dried fruit smell and taste is totally dominant. I really enjoyed my bottle and would surely recommend it.

Excellent value for money and a great intro to whisky drinkers

Beautifully smooth. I have tried several whiskies before this, including the famous Johnie Walker, and i have to say, this whisky is a lovely smooth vanilla, caramel and slight peaty. Highly recommend it. Although it is not my favourite whisky, you can not go wrong with it. Easily the smoothest whisky i have tried and it is very enjoyable, with ice or without. I say try both, see which you prefer. It has such a lovely nose and the finish is heaven.

    Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Disappointed! My bottle of Aberlour should have been poured down the river. It should have been rejected in the tasting room instead of having bottles wasted on it. I hope that my disappointment can be blamed on batch variation and the taster being plastered.

    Nice peaty taste

Got about 40 bottles of whisky on the go at the moment, quite a few single malts, was looking for something to enjoy the evening, opened the tin to find this still had the foil on it, been there for at least 2 years so thought it time to try, certainly not Smokey, (got some Laphroaig for that), quite easy to drink, fairly smooth, it's quite good for a cold night
