Single Malt
Wine Cask

From France's A. Roborel De Climens Distillery, this splendid single malt is produced from French malted barley and matured in a selection of first and second fill French oak barrels. Following this initial maturation, the whisky is transferred to casks that previously held Sauvignon Blanc from the Clos Floridène winery, imparting a wealth of fresh floral character from the dry white wine.
Elegant notes of crisp zest and fruity floral character mingle with sweet oak and crushed almonds.
Light, juicy fruit notes with peaches, pear, and white grapes, alongside richer, dried fruit and soft spice.
Sultanas, a touch of chamomile, delicate barley, and oaken vanilla.

Incredibly surprising whiskey. Light and clean with a moderate depth of flavor. There is none of the typical charred wood caramelization in this bottling. Just fruit and spice notes that range from apple and stone fruit to delicate baking spices. There is a moderately long finish upon which some blanched almonds show up. It is amazing how pronounced the effects of the wine barrel are on the spirit. Definitely worth tracking down for the education alone.
