A bottle of Tanqueray Rangpur Lime

Tasting notes

Something different here from Tanqueray. This gin is flavoured with Rangpur limes, also known as a Canton lemon. It's hard to conceive now how impressive a release this was for 2006. Flavoured gins with signature botanicals weren't 10 a penny then. And Rangpur isn’t even a lime. It's a hybrid of a mandarin orange and a citron, with orange flesh and a highly acidic flavour that makes it appealing to chefs. And fine gin makers, it appears.

Tasting notes

Back in the 1860s, Tanqueray creator Charles Tanqueray visited the orange groves of Spain and eventually produced a gin recipe based around the glory of Seville oranges. In early 2018, they released Tanqueray Sevilla Gin, inspired by the recipe written over 140 years ago! If you like your gin to be citrus-focussed and generally excellent, you're in for a sun-soaked treat.

A bottle of Tanqueray Blackcurrant Royale Gin

Tanqueray Blackcurrant Royale Gin

Product

Tasting notes

A juicy, flavoursome gin from Tanqueray, built around the brilliance of blackcurrant! Inspired by Charles Tanqueray's journeys to France, this expression features four of Tanqueray's classic botanicals, alongside French blackcurrants, vanilla, and black orchid. It's bursting with berry notes, though balanced by the floral wafts, creamy richness, and herbaceous spice. We reckon this will go rather well in a G&T with plenty of fresh berries thrown in as garnish, though it should also do handsomely in a twist on a Kir Royale, or perhaps a Bramble.
