A rounded, medium bodied spiced spirit drink (to be classified as a rum, it needs to be 37.5% abv) known the world over. Captain Morgan's Spiced is great value for money, and needs little introduction.
Please note: You may receive one of the limited edition Captain Morgan bottles, each featuring a different name on the label: Captain Drama, Captain Banter, Captain Comedy, Captain Retro, Captain Genius, Captain Clueless and Captain Karaoke. We cannot guarantee which one of these labels you will receive
Allspice and vanilla. Huge cinnamon notes, freshly grated nutmeg, black pepper and rich Black Forest Honey.
Demerara sugar, smoky molasses and a big whack of cloves, nutmeg and sweet cinnamon.
Medium-length with sweet spices.
I was a relative newcomer to spiced rum and fell in love Captain Morgan's spiced (Original spiced). Like so many others, I now find it impossible to find. It seems to have been replaced by Captain Morgan Original spiced gold. They taste and look (the spiced gold being insipid and much paler) totally different! To add insult to injury, the 'gold' is more expensive! Please, please, please bring back the old one!!!
Been looking in supermarkets for weeks to buy ordinary morgans spiced. Spiced gold on offer in Asda so tried it. Agree with everyone else gold is not as good. Where's the SPICE gone. Original tasted just perfect with Pepsi max and slice lime. Now tastes like I'm drinking diet coke! Please bring back original
this drink was always a favourite of my partner and I. whatever they have done to it they need to go back to the way it was. absolutely gutted.
I was out and about in Dundee Scotland, One bar sold Morgans spiced, which was great as usual, next bar sold spiced gold, I said that it was totally different, and I was assured it was the same as Morgans spiced, as previously mentioned above, it is definitely not the same, I asked the barman to google it, he did and he said it was exactly the same, I told him it definitely was not, i awoke this morning with a slight hangover, which I have never had before with drinking Morgans spiced,( I usually have between 5/6 shots with a mixer)and that was with only 2 shots of spiced gold, obviously mixing the 2 different drinks is not good, if they were allegedly the same drink I definitely would not have had a slight hangover, as above if this is the new drink on offer I will NOT be drinking it, please get it sorted !!
I had just got into drinking the morgans spiced just before it changed and the other is not the same. I have however found lambs spice is just like the morgans was.
