Bundaberg is a 2 year old Australian dark rum spirit drink (technically it's not a rum as it's just a whisker under 37.5% ABV). The company is named for Bundaberg in Queensland where the company was started.
The nose is sweet with Demerara and molasses, spice and pepper and plenty of oak. The palate is dry with oak and spice, a little brown sugar sweetness and spice. The finish is spicy and woody.
If you like rums and want a smooth taste - bugger off and drink something else. If you are Aussie and had this rubbed on your gums as a teething baby like most Aussies did, you will 'get' this rum and although I know that it is not the best rum in the world, I love that it is not the best rum in the world and because of that it is the best rum in the world for me and for any self respecting, hard drinking, foreign woman loving (sorry we ruined them for youse), Aussie bloke! Love the taste of a full rum and coke anytime! Learnt to enjoy the taste many years ago when frequently visiting Australia and I am still looking for a Bundy whenever I enter a bar! Unfortunately difficult to get in Sweden but I manage to get supplies now and then through visiting friends!
tried bundaberg when I visited the factory in 2013 don't like ordinary rum but this is special my girlfriend who doesn't drink! loves it too great with coke and ice
I first experienced this fine potable when it was introduced to me by an Aussie friend. Since then I have begged and bartered to get a bottle now and then. One of Australia's many great gifts to the worl.
