Bartex

A Polish rectified spirit weighing in at a very imposing 95% ABV. This will be useful (in sparing amounts) for making your own liqueurs, but should definitely not be ingested neat.

Makes a really good basil liqueur, Maltese recipe. I'm now experimenting with other herbs.
Super strong, mixed it with milk shake, then tried root beer... Nice
Used this as a base to make liqueur with cherries. Enjoy responsibly and do not drink this neat, it's 95% alcohol.
Used this as a base to make liqueur with cherries (recipe as passed down by the family). Do not drink this neat, it's 95% alcohol.
You can't really use many superlatives about a rectified spirit, such as 'oooh, what a nice flavour' or 'Mmm, the finish is very smooth' What this is, is a spirit that is very delicately flavoured of vodka. I have indeed drunk this neat: one shot at a time as I suspect even for hardened drinkers or seasoned professionals, any more than one would be tempting fate. Added to cocktails it gives the flavour a little more depth (a I do mean a little) but, otherwise just adds girth to the alcohol content. Whether consumed neat or not, it's the only drink I've come across that gets you drunk from the back of your head first. Basically, you get the hangover BEFORE you get drunk. It's a drink more for use than for enjoyment but, that doesn't detract from the experience of owning a bottle of edible spirit with 95% written on it. Consume responsibly.
