Why we love Highland Scotch whisky
In terms of flavour profile, the Highlands might be one of the hardest whisky-producing regions in Scotland to pin down, because it covers such a large geographical area (in fact, the largest geographical area out of all the Scotch whisky regions), but that's what makes it fabulous! It covers such a breadth of flavour diversity, encompassing historic distilleries like Dalmore and Glenmorangie, as well as newer distilleries like Nc'nean.

About Nc'nean Distillery
Relatively new (in Scotch whisky terms), Nc’nean was founded in March 2017 by Annabel Thomas, becoming the first fully organic modern distillery in Scotland powered by 100% renewable energy!
The name is pronounced ‘nook-knee-anne’, and it’s an abbreviation of Neachneohain, a witch-queen in Scots Gaelic folklore. In keeping with its sustainable mission, the wood chips for the biomass boiler are sourced from a local forest, and all by-products are recycled as animal and plant feed on the distillery’s estate.
