Wood's is made from the finest sugar cane and distilled in Guyana, South America. Bottled at 57% abv, it is one of the highest percentage volume dark rums out there right now, at least at this price.
Its smooth enough to enjoy neat, but also a killer choice for cocktails.
Toffee, cinnamon, cloves and pepper spice on the nose with thick caramel notes.
Muscovado sugar, soft toffee and just a hint of the spice detected on the nose. This is very smooth, belying its hefty abv.
Surprisingly short but thick and syrupy toffee notes abound.
A rich, dark rum with a high abv that retains its smoothness. Would work well in a dark and stormy, despite the fact Wood's is distilled in Guyana, and not Bermuda.

Wonderful stuff. Rich and luxurious. Like a first rate sticky toffee pudding. Powerful when sipped neat but a little water opens it up and quenches the alcohol fire. Makes a delightful Cuba Libre. Has become an essential bottle to have.
Being ex navy and experienced the TOT this is the only one to come close. Rich and strong nothing fancy.
