Danish rock band Volbeat has gone and released another rum, and this one is a rather rich expression boasting bold notes of dried fruit and runny caramel. If you happen to be at the middle of the Venn diagram of "music fan" and "rum fan", this might be the bottle for you.
Sultana, walnut, cedar, zesty orange and mango, subtly toasty at points, with a kick of cumin spiciness later on.
I was lucky enough to receive this as a gift for Father's Day from my partner and the kids. I have been a fan of the hard rock band Volbeat for years, seen them live and so this is a great gift for a fan like myself. The initial look at the bottle in hand is great. Label is very fitting for the band and for a premium rum. The taste is amazing and very smooth. I tried this both on its own and with coke and found that it is a 'sipper' due to how smooth and fruity it is. Mixing with coke loses a lot of its flavour. Just add a little ice and enjoy. Overall, a great premium rum for any avid fan of Volbeat and spiced rums.
