Siddiqui Brown Rum

This Brown Rum from Siddiqui (pronounced 'sid-dee-key') aims to bridge the gap between whisky and rum. It takes a base of Siddiqui White Rum, and then leaves it to rest in American oak, where it takes on its colour and slightly smoky, oaky, caramel flavour profile. While Siddiqui is an American brand based in California, the folks from Penderyn in Wales produce it for the international market!

Not great

Not sure about the other reviews. Found this rum to be very harsh on the palate. Would not buy again.

Lovely smooth rum

Bought this in Harlech while on holiday. Absolutely love it. Seem so called experts criticising it and getting hung up on calling it brown rum. Well you know what ? It is brown. Get over it and enjoy the taste.

Hints of home (Saudi brat)

To be clear, this tastes absolutely nothing like Whisk(e)y. I dislike Whiskey, but love this stuff. I grew up partially in the Middle East and Siddiqui was the only spirit I could get (most of the time). We generally had the white stuff, whereas I've only tried Penderyn's brown. To me, it's "a hint of home, with some much more mature (and less lighter-fluid-esque), refined, spiced-rum-like flavours". It's a flavoured white or gold rum. Nothing Whiskey about it imho. Also, it doesn't reflect the few genuine brown siddiquis I've had (which, being honest, were horrible) I love the stuff, but let's be real - dunking wood/whiskey chips in it (how they made it in Saudi) doesn't make it a whiskey Although it's produced by Penderyn, it's the brainchild of guys who lived in Saudi and drank the real deal growing up. It's commercialised and made more acceptable to the Western palate, it's something new and interesting, or reminiscent of home to those of us fortunate enough to have grown up with Sid. Give it a try if you like any kind of rum. You won't have had anything like it before

Very smokey

Throught I try a new Rum. Siddiqui it's like a smoked Rum and whiskey combination. As it say on bottle "sips like a whiskey, parties like a rum" don't know about that. Yes there are whiskey undertones and rum. Both my favourite spirts. As a straight drink it's just very smokey to smokey really. Splash of coke yes it's ok. Splash of ginger beer know your taking Would I buy another bottle jury is out on that
