A favourite here at Master of Malt, this is a truly superb Guatemalan rum, blended using the solera system, and including rums aged between six and 23 years. Sublime stuff, matured in a mix of bourbon and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
Very sweet and nutty, honey and chocolate. Dark brown sugar, gentle smoke. Pipe tobacco.

Very light rum that has a nice finish after along day at the office. Love the fruitiness when taking slow sips coffee n the evening. Not over power as most rims go. Looking forward to trying the XO. Brilliant!!

For what it seems to try for, this rum is excellent. Thin, 40% ABV dark amber maple syrup, anyone? Best rum? Sure, if you haven't tried many. Sure, if you're an alcoholic hummingbird. But a bad rum?? Sure, if you don't like the super-sweet, ever. Sure, if you want the drink to be as thick as the molasses or cane syrup that made it. For the price point I think this is a really good drink, but I wouldn't want it to be the only rum within arm's length.
