A delicious dark rum from Ron Pampero, Pampero Aniversario is made in continuous stills in Venezuela. It's full, rich and very fruity.
Molasses and chocolate. Hints of cocoa butter, creamy vanilla, soft spice and hay.
Very oily. Smooth, supple notes of fruit and spice. A little cocoa and caramel.
Vanilla and soft smoke on the finish.
This rum is amazing it should be more widely available in America. The blend of flavors is unlike any other rum I have tried.
I currently have ~12 rums in my collection, including several at twice the price but this is the sipping rum I reach for more than any other. For a sipping rum I want depth, complexity, character and a good hit of alcohol and Pampero Aniversario delivers. Rich, fruity, full-bodied flavour with lots of dates, raisins and figs - it tastes like it looks. I appreciate smoothness but in a rum I want that alcohol hit too and this has a gentle burn on the way down (though easily tempered with a little ice). I'd put this in the same general company as Appleton 12y and R L Seale's 10y but for my money this is the clear winner. Everyone's bar has a handful of brand's they replace as soon as they run out - this is my dark rum. Five stars.
I really like this rum outta alot I've hoarded over the years, I've heard quality issues depending on batch but the two I've tried have both been excellent and a real treat. Has a nice touch with the leather pouch it comes in aswel and always get remarks from the untrained eye
Simply excellent
This is my favorite rum and has been for twenty years. Spicy (not cinnamon spicy, more like cloves and allspice) and complex and warm and smooth and comforting. Delicious neat in winter and on the rocks in summer. I used to mix it with cola as a young man, but now I feel like that’s a waste.
