Abuelo XII Three Angels is a more intense version of the award-winning Abuelo XII Two Oaks a single estate rum from the distillery in Panama. Like Two Oaks, this is a blend of double-aged 12-year rums, first matured in white American oak bourbon casks, then in extra-charred new oak casks. Unlike Two Oaks, this release was bottled using rum exclusively from the casks on the top row of Ron Abuelo’s vintage pallet warehouses, where temperatures reach as high as 35°C. The Angel’s Share (the percentage of spirit that evaporates each year) reaches as much as 15% here (in Scotland it's only approx. 2-3%), an exceptionally high amount that inspired the name Three Angels. But these extreme daily changes in temperature and humidity also result in a rum with extraordinary complexity and flavour.
