Pusser's 'Gunpowder Proof' Black Label (previously known as Blue Label) is a higher proof traditional British Naval rum, produced using the blending recipe from the Admiralty. Well loved, it picked up a Trophy at the International Spirits Challenge 2016.
The nose is full of dried fruits, dates, prunes, slightly overripe figs. The palate is very sweet, plenty of dark, syrupy, stewed fruits. An interesting pot still character with a pleasant muddiness. Full-bodied. The finish is incredibly long and dark.

WOW..... as far as rum is concerned.... it doesn't get much better than this... once you adapt to the 54.5% ABV initial kick, you get a sublime warm taste and nose of demerara... just beautiful!!!..... don't waste it by mixing with coke... just a few ice cubes, let them melt a little, then sip... ENJOY!!
Very nice to drink on your own or with mates
Forget the nose and all the cheeky taste`s as described by the "never had a proper tot crew, most probably "T" men pretending to be experts". Drinking this the years just rolled away and took me back to tot time and gulpers and sippers I enjoyed for 28 years. This is the best--better than Wood`s --also 57%.
The best proper Navy Rum out there. I was awarded my Submarine Service Dolphins with this Rum so it will always be My favourite.
Note The nose is by no means diminutive with a plenitude of sweet woody notes, dried walnut, Tunisian dates and seasoned fig. The prune note is extremely dry with cheesy touches adequately ripe to parry the dark, dulce and treacle base of the stew. Provencal Pot pourri au Van Gogh has its advocates but this British rum of rums paints in a solid Rubinesque foreground while the lasting Munchian darkness of the aftertaste is its true RSVP.
