Project #173 Lime Rum Bottling Note

It's an inarguable fact that rum and lime make a great pairing, and this splendid addition to the Project #173 range of naturally flavoured rums proves that fact masterfully! A hearty base of good quality rum is accompanied by layer upon layer of zesty, natural lime making for a vibrant spirit, bursting with robust, burnt caramel and intense fruity tang. A zingy treat splashed over ice, it also ought to pair incredibly well in sweeter fruit juices and cocktails, that are in need of a zippy kick. The bottle is adorned with a 23 karat gold leaf, which is a neat little touch.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: As we said – layers of lime! Dried peels start things off, balanced by sweet sultanas before bitter pith and a fruity confectionary tangle. Lime jelly sweets, dark chocolate, and more vegetal, herbal wafts of sweet mint nestle beneath.

Palate: The sweet tang of perfectly ripe limes opens the way with candied peels and oleo-saccharum, before a kick of prickly zest brings some enjoyably peppery warmth. A depth of drying spice and fragrant, rootsy Cola Cubes follows.

Finish: Rich, zesty fruit oils linger with more suggestions of spiced cola, whilst the robust rum takes hold at the core.

Overall: Cuba Libre! Yup, this will transform a quality cola, topped with plenty of ice, and some fresh lime for good measure.
