Butterscotch is one of those flavours that you find all over the shop in terms of aged spirits, but it's not very often that you see a spirit that really leans into it. This expression from the Project #173 Rum range really puts its full weight behind that butterscotch brilliance. Not to say that this neglects to make itself known as a rum - there are all sorts of tasty clues towards that fact - but it really does go all-in on the rich, creamy, sweet butterscotch notes. Fab sipped neat, and we reckon this would make for some great cocktails too, or poured into hot chocolate on a chilly winter evening..

Banana fritters, Fruit Salad sweeties, honey, brown sugar caramelising in a pan, a hint of orange blossom.
Nectarine, satsuma, Werther's Original, sticky toffee pudding, cocoa, soft peppery spice sneaking in later on.
Vanilla tablet and milky coffee, though still quite fruity all the way through the finish.
Lip-smacking stuff, with big ol' bundles of butterscotch to enjoy.

This is so lovely on its own or with ginger ale, or coke. We are on our 4th bottle! Didn't much like the cherry one. It comes well packaged.

For me the alcohol content is a bit too high to appreciate its flavour neat or over ice. However, add it to ginger ale and it becomes really sublime. The flavours really get to shine without being overpowered by the strong alcohol note, and I even get notes of peach tea peeking through. Really gorgeous, though be warned that you definitely have to enjoy your alcohol sweet for this one. I imagine it would be just as good with Coke.
Really like this neat over ice, but it can get a bit too sweet as a session rum over the course of an evening.
