This five year old rum by Panamá-Pacific is made using freshly distilled sugar cane molasses. Aged for three years in ex bourbon casks, it is then transferred for a two year finishing period in roasted Canadian and Tennessee rye barrels! A very pleasing sipper, this would go very well with a good pressed apple juice and a wedge of lime.
Caramelised bananas, honey and vanilla meet fresh green apples and the syrup from tinned pears. Oak spice, with a lingering finish.

This is a really nice 5-year-old rum from Panama. A 'light' but seriously delicious example of a rum from one of my favored terroirs. I can't comment on how it might perform in cocktails as I only drink any rum as a 'sipper' and this is a great sipping example of a Panamanian rum, at a reasonable price.
