O.V.D stands for Old Vatted Demerara, a style of rum blending unique to the Demerara region of Guyana. The rum is distilled from molasses in a wooden Coffey still in Guyana before it’s blended and bottled in Glasgow. A classic dark rum with an almost cult status, that’s packed with rich, creamy notes.
We reckon O.V.D. Demerara Rum is one of our Best Rums under £40!
Buttery, toffee-rich aromas. Dried peels, oak and stone fruit.
Syrupy, buttery palate. Sweetened coffee and banana sweets.
Medium-length finish, sparkling spices on the tail.

i served in the Royal Navy and the RN tot was Demerara rum, the closest I have had to the real navy rum was Wood100 but I understand OVD is very close also, is this true and if so is there any company importing this rum please?
lucky to own one of the last produced 100 proof bottles of OVD it only comes out on rare occasions, 40% is as the say up here in Dundee Tickety Boo for the rest of the year .A Wonderful Rum!
Simply the best. Wish I could get it in Australia.
Served with the Black watch in Guyana in the 50s, and introduced to OVD. Best and only rum I have drunk since. I was gifted two bottles of OVD Spiced, for my 75 birthday a few yeqrs ago and have been trying to purchase same, but believe that it is no longer available. OVD Rum cannot be beaten for taste but OVD Spiced is like a liquer and best drunk on its own, with ice. Any one know of a distiller who is slill selling OVD Spice.
£21 a litre in asds Trafford Park,lovely drink,my fave rum,first time of tasting,it's like drinking Christmas pudding,lol.
