The sixth release from the Master Blender Collection, this Mount Gay expression was created by the MB herself, Trudiann Branker, using some of the oldest rum stocks in the Barbados distillery's bonds. A blend of pot and column still rums, it was aged in American whiskey casks for 20 years before spending an additional year maturing in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. It was bottled at 45% ABV without chill-filtration or additional colouring and just 4,200 bottles were released.
Stewed plums, salted caramel, toasted oak, and nutmeg.
Earthy vanilla, dark cherry, salted peanuts, banoffee pie, and cinnamon.
Long and dark and sweet.

Also have the Madeira Cask and this one goes very nicely alongside that for special occasions (usually end of a busy week) to sip. Very nice sherry notes with lots going on with each mouthful.
By far the best release for the master blender collection yet, a personal favourite. Slightly lower or the alcohol percentage but wow full of caramel toffee notes, freshly baked banana bread and molasses on the initial nose, sweet sherry but not too sweet and beautiful smooth
