An independent bottling of 5 year old Mauritian rum produced by the Labourdonnais distillery using a traditional column still. It was bottled by That Boutique-y Rum Company and bestowed a handsome label, featuring a rather stately-looking rum cask covered in vanilla flower petals.
Batch 1 is a release of 1,200 bottles.
Banana fritters, honey, soft nutmeg heat and a whiff of green apple.
Peppery at first, though layers of caramel and vanilla temper the spice. Juicy honeydew melon in the background.
Lingering cardamom and toasted oak on the finish.

Love the nose on this rum, taste gets better after every sip. Glad I gave it a go
Overwhelming smell of burnt hay bale, with the taste to match. Its so bad, and bares so little resemblance to the tasting notes here, that I seriously question if the right drink was in the sample. Sorry Boutique-y, you normally get it right, but this time you got it very, very wrong.
Wow, beautiful, smooth longpleasant after taste very nice indeed. Mauritians should be very pleased with this rum.
